It’s perfectly normal to feel anxious from time to time. It's a normal coping response when faced with a real or perceived threat.
In some situations, it can even be useful and beneficial; for example nerves before a big exam or performance can help your body release the stress hormones which help you to focus.
However, when this starts to be the norm rather than the exception you may feel that it's time to take stock and regain control. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is very effective for helping you to do this.
During our Initial Consultation, I will give you an understanding of how our brains work and why we think and behave as we do. It’s incredibly powerful to have this understanding and enables you to make the first step towards change and help break the vicious cycle of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours that help keep anxiety alive.
When we step back from a negative situation and understand why and how our thoughts and feelings influence us, that awareness can be the first step into making positive choices and change.
In subsequent sessions using a combination of "talking therapy" techniques and hypnosis, I will help you to move further out of this negative mind-set and bring back a more balanced perspective on life, increasing your positivity and reducing your symptoms of anxiety. This will also help you feel calmer and more in control.
We will focus on how you want your life to be (and not how you don't) and identify the steps needed to get you there, all of which will be personal and appropriate to you.
If our minds and the way that we think about things have the power to create anxiety, then they also have the power to combat it!
If you feel it's time to act, please contact me to make an appointment or simply to have a chat.
"I would highly recommend Tracey. She is approachable, reassuring and professional. She helped my 10 year old to better manage her emotions, not only was there a big improvement, but my daughter was noticeably happier as a result. "
Thank you for visiting! Please note that I am now practicing in Stockbridge, having moved from my previous clinic in Chandlers Ford. Google is still showing the old address, but I hope that this will be corrected very soon.
