How does Hypnotherapy help anxiety?
During our Initial Consultation, we'll look at how our brains work around anxiety and why we think and behave as we do. It’s incredibly powerful to have this understanding and enables you to make the first steps towards positive change and help break the vicious cycle of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours that help keep anxiety alive.
When we step back and understand why and how our thoughts and feelings influence us, then that awareness is often the first step in making conscious choices that lead to positive change.
In subsequent sessions using a combination of talking therapy and clinical hypnosis, I will help you to move further out of this negative and unhelpful mind-set to bring back a more balanced perspective on life, increasing your positivity and reducing your symptoms of anxiety. This will also help you feel calmer, more in control and better equipped to deal with difficulties in the future. I will also help you to work out what your strategies are for managing unhelpful thinking going forward.
We focus on how you want your life to be (and not how you don't) and identify the steps needed to get you there, all of which will be personal and appropriate to you.
If our minds and the way that we think about things have the power to create anxiety, then they also have the power to combat it.
