A lack of confidence can affect every area of your life: your relationships, your work, your social life, your sports performance, your feelings of self worth and so much more.
We all have “off” days where we don’t feel good about ourselves or are overly self critical but if this starts to happen every day it can have a detrimental effect on our mental health. It can also prevent us from achieving our full potential and keep us stuck in a cycle of negativity.
Confidence is really an attitude towards yourself - and an attitude, like a behaviour or habit, can be learned and re-learned. So, rather than thinking of confidence as something you have irretrievably lost or never even had in the first place, imagine rather that it is something that might have been covered up or overlooked, available for you to rediscover and build upon.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be a highly effective way of reconnecting with your inner confidence (it's in there!) or perhaps re-learning more positive behaviours whilst shedding the old, unhelpful ones.
In our Initial Consultation, I will give you an understanding of how our brains work and why we think and behave as we do. It’s incredibly powerful to have this understanding and enables you to make the first step towards change and help break the vicious cycle of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
When we step back from a negative situation and understand why and how our thoughts and feelings influence us, that awareness can be the first step into making positive choices and change.
In subsequent sessions using a combination of "talking therapy" techniques and hypnosis, I will help you to move further out of this negative mind-set and bring back a more balanced perspective on life, increasing your positivity and reducing your feelings of self doubt. This will also help you feel more confident and more in control of your feelings.
We will determine how you do want to act, feel and think and work towards that by focusing on your strengths and positive attributes. This also increases your confidence and self esteem and helps to optimise all of your strengths and resources.
If our minds and the way that we think about things have the power to create self doubt, then they also have the power to combat it!
