We can experience stress for all sorts of reasons - personal, school/college/uni, work to name a few. Within reason, it's a normal response to certain situations but when stress levels start to rise and it's experienced every day rather than just for certain situations then it's a good idea to seek help to manage it more healthily.
Hypnotherapy can help you learn to respond in more constructive ways to your stress triggers (both in the workplace and in your personal life) and change how you feel and think about them - helping you to feel more in control and better able to cope as you would wish.
In our Initial Consultation, I will give you an understanding of how our brains work and why we think and behave as we do. It’s incredibly powerful to have this understanding and enables you to make the first step towards change and help break the vicious cycle of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours that help keep chronic stress alive.
In subsequent sessions using a combination of talking therapy and hypnosis, I will help you to move further out of this negative mind-set and bring back a more balanced perspective on life. This will also help you feel calmer and more in control. We will focus on how you want to feel (and not how you don't) and identify the steps needed to get you there, all of which will be personal and appropriate to you. We will also focus on self management tools to help you maintain your stress levels in the long term.
The deep relaxation experienced during hypnosis helps the process considerably by reducing tension and getting you into the right place to cope with the stress you are facing - and just as importantly be able to think about it differently, so that you are back in the driving seat.
